Powercom Consultants have begun construction of their new testing facility, just south of Hobart, Tasmania.  Just a few meters form the headquarters of The Powercom Group, Novaris have begun constuction of a new testing facility.

"The testing facility will house a new surge generator which will improve our capacity to further test the latest designs in lightning and surge protection technologies." - Chris Sharman, Engineering Support Group Manager

The surge generator has the capacity to generate between 20KA and 70KA, similar to that of a direct lightning strike.

Chris Sharman, Engineering Support Manager believes this testing facility will be a unique addition to Novaris and allows further research and product development to be coomissioned in Tasmania.

Expected completion of the new testing facility should be 1st the first quarter of 2008.
